Launching on Indigenous Literacy Day, Thursday 3 September 2026, Read for Jarjum is a fun and engaging school-wide reading challenge that celebrates the power of books, storytelling, and learning.

Participating schools will have the opportunity to:

About Redfern Jarjum College

A small school making a life-changing difference

Redfern Jarjum College is a fee-free Jesuit primary school in Redfern, Sydney, providing holistic education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who have experienced barriers to learning.

Our students are supported through small classes and practical wraparound care, including transport, meals, uniforms, health and wellbeing support, cultural learning and strong relationships with families and community. Read for Jarjum invites schools across Australia to discover Indigenous stories and stand alongside our Jarjums as they learn, grow and shine.
